(verse 1: 21prodigy)
man, sixth grade, couple years ago
i was living life, i was rapping and had that k!ller flow
i had plenty of friends, and was with my best bro
towards the end i started seeing changes
acne started, it was coming in fazes
and i was weird, my friends thought i was insane man
my mind was spinning like a fan
hormones like my sister, all bipolar and sh-t
seventh grade ran around, new school and i was looking to fit
met a couple of good n-ggas, that were there when i needed them
thought i found the love of my life, but that was some bullsh-t
she cheated on me and dated a friend of mine, f-ck that dumb b-tch
i started cutting, my life fell to h-ll, those n-ggas left and i was starting to lose it
i moved away again, looking for a new life
and it started to go good, i was living life just how i like
but as they say, history is doomed to repeat itself, and that’s right
sh-t started up again, my life was becoming under-fire
i tried to tell my parents and my story just got denied
so i called the suicide hotline and tried to get some advice
they picked up and transferred the call to a girl who said

(chorus: lil beefy)
take a deep breath, close your eyes life is not fair but you still have to try
when you fall down pick yourself back up, today may be bad but tomorrow’s a new start
don’t cry
you’re alive
don’t cry

(verse 2: 21prodigy)
and that was it
i was starting to feel happy again
8th and 9th grade went around with nothing said
but it came back
the feelings i had were really bad
every night i went to bed, never happy, always sad
i would get random memories and get really mad
one night i received a message from a kid
he started texting me and calling me sh-t
so i opened the window and pushed out the screen
jumped out onto the street
i slipped and fell down to my knees
it started raining, my surroundings were h-lla hard to see
i stood up and started running, ducking and moving through all the trees
this is not who my mom wanted me to be
i slowed to a walk, then my phone started to ring
it was my mom, i threw the phone into the forest, too foggy to see far it would be
i kept jogging through the trees
stumbled up a hill, thinking it’ll be better to see
i reached the top
saw 2 lights and took a hit from a car
(music plays)
i awoke to the sound of shuffling feet
i shuffled around, looked down and seen the white bed sheet
i had no idea where i could be
there was a mask on, one of those that are used to help you to breathe
i thought i was alone so i closed my eyes and i as i was just beginning to dream
i heard my mom next to me as she was beginning to speak

(chorus: lil beefy)
take a deep breath, close your eyes life is not fair but you still have to try
when you fall down pick yourself back up, today may be bad but tomorrow’s a new start
don’t cry
you’re alive
don’t cry
