as ava approached the mansion, she noticed that one of the guest window’s curtains were open. a paranoid thought surfaced in her head, that jewel anne was at the window watching her from afar. but she pushed the thought aside with the chance of one of the maid cleaning the room and rearranging. she walked in taking her muddy shoes off at the door and then being greeted by jewel anne unfortunately. questioning ava if she went out riding, ava considers the fact of ignoring her. but answering her anyways, telling her it was her land so she will ride as she pleases. then questions her if she had run into dern. ava told her yes and asked her why she asked. jewel replied saying she had seen him walk out the ranch with one of the horses and into the wood. ava then became quiet

ava looked at jewel anne and she returned the glance, they both stood in silence. well, at least ava “stood”. ava then decided to question jewel anne, since she acted as if she knew everything. she asked why dern decided to work at the ranch and why her husband hired him. anne gave ava a sweet grin, a grin that almost mimicked her small china doll she had at her waist. she replied saying that the computer company wyatt is -ssociated with decided to send dern to him, considering the founder’s son could not keep the company up to date. jewel then looked away form ava and began knitting again. “why didn’t you ask her husband if you were so curious?” jewel asked. “i did.” ava snapped back. “i just wanted to know if my information legit” ava walked out of the room dissatisfied. she knew anne was a lot of things, and a liar was one of them

ava is now attending a session with her psychiatrist. even though ava has already told wyatt her dislike for these sessions, he implies that it is good for her and that they wan the best for her. ava starts off by explaining to mcpherson that she doesn’t see any need for further discussion. mcpherson replies by saying that her hallucination was just a few days ago. ava snaps back by saying it was not a hallucination and she had seen her son
