well, courtney, tonight it is just so unfortunate for those families and their childrеn who’ve been displaced in this fire
right now you can see firеfighters are still here battling hot spots after that triple decker went up in flames
there’s gotta be a lot of work done, that i am sure
on a cold night scorching flames shot up into the sky devouring a triple decker where six children and six adults called their home
i feel badly for them ’cause it looks like it’s probably pretty, pretty well devastated
firefighters say by the time they got to melville avenue, fortunately everyone was out of their homes
but the concern was keeping the fire from spreading to nearby houses
the home on fire was irene ingemi’s childhood home before it was converted to multi+family units
this was my neighborhood and, it’s—, it’s strange
help came in from needham, canton, walpole, foxboro, and westwood to fight the flames in challenging conditions
there were three full stories and then a half story on the fourth floor which made for a very difficult access for us to get up there, the fire did extend into that sp+ce
the damage left is significant
families who’ve been displaced waited with mixed emotions
grateful to make it out okay, but disheartened not to have a home so close to the holidays
very unfortunate, very unfortunate
just glad that n0body was home to, uh, have to be rescued
and back out here live, firefighters say they will be here for a while keeping a close eye on things
still no word on exactly how this fire started
