cult activity - gun to your temple lyrics
[intro]
reverend jim jones was the founder of people’s temple is dead and he died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head. not of poisoning
jim jones they find on the pavilion. bloated, dead, gunshot wound to the head. you can suspect that jim jones having seen the terrible deaths his followers were suffering, at the last minute didn’t want it for himself
[verse 1: s.a.w. da ghozt]
we in jonestown, far from the people’s templе
the journey’s rough, sh+t is tough and it ain’t that simple
wе practiced many times, laid in methodic lines
drink the kool+aid motherf+cker, feel it in your spine
i see their bodies jerking, that means my potion working
looks like that b+tch is twerking, close the f+cking curtain
welcome to my gift at life, i was born a prophet
here to bring you to the light, you don’t need a coffin
but i’m the last to go, my soul is last at free
it only takes one bullet and a blast for me
you wanna see my thoughts? what’s really on my brain?
i tried to fight the voices, just could never mask the pain
i’m getting paranoid, i know they’re coming for us all
so, we have to end the mission, i could hear the angels call
put the bullet in the chamber, wanna meet my maker
he be laying in the mud, f+cking undertaker
[chorus: geno cultsh+t]
yeah, yeah, there’s no pain when you let go, gun to your temple
life is a b+tch and nothing here is simple
so, hey, i’ve been down this path before
no pain when you let go, gun to your temple
life is a b+tch and nothing here is simple
so, hey, i’ve been down this path before
[verse 2: bl++dy ruckus]
eating bullets like i’m takin’, right, i got one more request
to rape your b+tch and make her suffer like teresa halbach’s death
please put the heater to my temple, let the bullet slide on off
then put me in a wooden box and make sure i do not get out
snorting lines of rat poison ’cause i’m a f+cking god
eating tide pod, still bumping cultsh+t on your ipods
this that new trend that blow+your+head+off music
bodies stacked on bodies like the visions of anubis
summon the energy out of the barrel to take away everything that i have loved and respect
i’ma go get the f+ck out my way
get to drinking the kool+aid so you can die slow
come and take a final trip into the dark side
what the boss read, break their f+cking brain, not mine
pull another bullet with no sign of life
nothing creep in the night and i’ll be dead by night
i don’t wanna live this way no more
when i’m feeling like astray
mental breakdowns on the floor
i’ll blow my brains
[chorus: geno cultsh+t]
yeah, yeah, there’s no pain when you let go, gun to your temple
life is a b+tch and nothing here is simple
so, hey, i’ve been down this path before
no pain when you let go, gun to your temple
life is a b+tch and nothing here is simple
so, hey, i’ve been down this path before
[verse 3: damien quinn]
if you wanna play the game then that’s on you
bullet in the chamber, then continue
playing russian roulette when i’m feeling upset
made my head a mess with a gold+plated tec
yes, i confess, i’m obsessed with death
never was blessed so you know what’s next
respect what you don’t understand, fear what you can’t conquer
am i their leader or am i a monster?
nine+hundred and nine dead, what’s one more?
brain fragments on the floor, now the horror you’ll explore
is beyond your worst imagination, we were living for salvation
now my congregation gives a standing ovation
when these bullets enter your skin my children gather, this is not a drill
we will quench our thirst for redemption, i’ll see you in h+ll
as i eat this sh+ll, this is not suicide
the suicide’s a revolution beginning our evolution
protesting against conditions of an inhumane world
drink it down boys and girls
in my skull this bullet hurls
[chorus: geno cultsh+t]
yeah, yeah, there’s no pain when you let go, gun to your temple
life is a b+tch and nothing here is simple
so, hey, i’ve been down this path before
no pain when you let go, gun to your temple
life is a b+tch and nothing here is simple
so, hey, i’ve been down this path before
[outro]
there are many lessons to be learned from jonestown. i look at the world today, i look at the environment that we’re in and i see this+this parallel. and i look at how people’s temple began. it began in a time where there was a sociopolitical change, but is was also based on fear. we are in the same type of environment if not worse that could generate something much much more dangerous than jonestown. it could happen again. (it could happen again, it could happen again, it could happen again, it could happen again, it could happen again, it could happen again, it could happen again, it could happen again, it could happen again, it could happen again, it could happen again, it could happen again, it could happen again)
