lyrics

when a payphone on a bridge is the government’s solution
for people that are stressed, suicide by absolution
when the wait list for a psych is so long that i would lose it
if i didn’t have the ability to express myself through this music
a medical system stretched so thin that you can see through it
not enough beds, and the emergancy units
are underfunded to the point where they can seem useless
and the mental health system can’t see its own hubris, the people affected self harm because its fruitless
and the public health system considers them a nuisance

i’m sorry for swearing beacuse i wouldn’t normally use it
but this sh#t is f#cked
it’s bordering on abusive
i’ve got some friends affected and they didn’t ever choose it
but that fact, isn’t factored and finding peace is elusive
for some the solution is turning to the booze
into a glass they sink and their whole life they lose
drugs and crime the, mental tightening of screws
having a mental break, but no capacity to breakthrough
i have a lot of faith in the people in this city
even though society pits them against each other, it’s a pity
a rental crisis, and homelessness where we are living
and there’s an understated drug epidemic that goes on unforgiven
a pill is the most common form of compensation
for a chemical imbalance in your brains location
the medical system can you leave you feeling lost and forsaken
people show cracks before the moments when they are breaking
and in the greater community, we’ve lost the sense of unity
while people in the public are under constant scrutiny
we judge each other with impunity
our trust lost to insecurity
the cost of security within all of our communities
we live un0btrusively while we struggle in obscurity
a gratuity of the city, that we live in ambiguity
the perpetuity of a sad continuity
and the only thing that can make a difference are the efforts of you and me

when a payphone on a bridge is the government’s solution
for people that are stressed, suicide by absolution
when the wait list for a psych is so long that i would lose it
if i didn’t have the ability to express myself through this music
a medical system stretched so thin that you can see through it
not enough beds, and the emergancy units
are undeefunded to the point where they can seem useless
and the mental health system can’t see its own hubris, the people affected self harm because its fruitless
and the public health system considers them a nuisance
