my friend jesus died for me

holding my hand his love and grace filled the air
i thought that i could, fly high like a dove, as he
filled my heart with his wondrous, joy and love
looking back as a rebellious teen,
he has more patience than i ever seen
through all the tears i cried
all the hardship and tragedy,
all those years of adversity
and when both my parents died
i know for sure, that jesus is here
and i still have that little rocking chair
the child that first loved him, is alive in my heart,

i thank him for dying and living
