ecg - sail lyrics
what i need is a whole god d-mn day god d-mn it
one by one every soldier fell one by one every soldier fell one by one every soldier fell while the kids all played on the carousel
one by one every soldier fell while the kids all played on the carousel unaware they would never know joy again, by the end of the war we had lost more than men
now the way the cities ran every mans a crook, who could never understand because they band the books, how the people of the land with demands should look, how to really take a stand, how the plans are cooked, into actions that leave the people laughing shook, now they cherish what they’re given never what they’ve took, now the m-sses are trained to help the few excell, every thought suppressed, every soul for sale, every soldier over eager for a chance to k!ll, to defend a way of life only fear could build, they feed the children television never show them real, when they complain of the pain, tell them take the pills
while the people might think never let them feel
while the people might think never let them feel
never let them lose faith in your printed bills, tell anyone with nothing everythings for sale, now the schools teach faith and the church preach sin, hopes gone, and its never comeing back again, not stole no it all got sold with a grin, see the greed got ahold of my dull little friends, why we chose such a road no one knows in the end, i suppose that it shows even souls wear thin, no walls, no guards, no need for them, they took away the will to leave never locked us in
sail!
sail!
sail!
sail!
sail!
maybe i should cry for help
maybe i should k!ll myself
blame it on my a.d.d. baby
maybe i’m a different breed
maybe i’m not listening
so blame it on my a.d.d. baby
sail!
sail!
sail!
sail!
sail!

but when it quites we call it fixed and say it f-cking change

and the problem i see with humanity today is we don’t truly know ourselves anymore. we have the 9 to 5 job, we have the house, the children, the bills, the television, the hobbies, and the errands that we run every single day, and we eventually begin to believe that this is who we are. but who are we that needs the job t-tle? that needs the status of mother or father? theist or atheist? republican or democrat? black or white? man or woman? who are we? who are we deep down inside? we don’t know because every time we hear an answer that we don’t want to accept about ourselves, we deny it. we’ll p-ss it off and project it onto somebody else and judge them for it. this is repression. and we see what repression can do to us on an individual level, but what about on a collective level of humanity? what happens when the whole world refuses to see what they truly are in the inside?”
