futuredrill is a genre pioneered by 808 trel and gxmini of the g00ns.net collective. the genre consist of new york and uk drill 808s and 808 slides over melodic rnb style instrumentals. the vocals reminiscent of rnb and pluggnb with various forms of vocal editing. the two artists being from the east coast (new york and atlanta) wanted to pay homage to their regions sound while hybridizing into underground scene. the self titled ep (futuredrill ep) by both artists is going to release in the summer of 2021
