lil' mq77qmlcl - daddy pig's lyrics
that’s a lot of boomer baby boomers, i’m sure you’ve been saying
ok, so just enough so that they can blame young kids for everything from terrorism to college debt
ok, so just enough that they can say their kids are responsible for everything from the collapse of the soviet union to climate change
then they say they’re responsible for it all and they blame all of us for it
it is just that simple
what is it that is wrong with these kids?
well, the reason why our country is not strong is because the people who are responsible are afraid
those parents who are working really hard — these parents are very concerned about what their kids look like and what they do as students, because a lot of people like to be on top of things — but then we are the ones who are worried. we just don’t want our kids to have to be worried
so we put our kids in public inst-tutions. in one way we are not letting them be as open and free as they could be. in other ways, that’s how we created this fear that these families are vulnerable to the enemy they so vehemently oppose
we are allowing that fear to become an excuse for us not doing anything about it, for our government not doing anything about it. we don’t allow our kids to grow up

on thursday we meet at an office park, a park which serves as the meeting spot for frenchmen who have arrived as part of the “refugee” influx

it feels as if i was in syria or libya, fighting at the front line, where the children of migrants live with their parents, with no security whatsoever
but, here in lille, it is not syrian kids with their parents who are fighting; refugees from the calais area and all over the country are. they are, according to the bbc’s lesleye swann, the main attraction
“the french have been there in their big boats for years, they haven’t had the chance because the governments haven’t made an investment, so the numbers have exploded,” one of them says. “i don’t know why they need to be here, but there is a reason to be here now, and that will be to show they are helping each other.”
some experts question whether there is such a thing as a ‘second-rate society’ and call the current trend ‘technological unemployment.’
and even if technological unemployment were to be eliminated, it remains to be seen if the ‘demise’ of consumer capitalism could be reversed. (the economist)

‘if someone told a child to be more caring – that’s the difference between having a home or a car. if you give your child that right, then they might want to live in the home, the car,’ professor smith told the new york times
‘my grandmother always said, “if i have to leave, i leave early, and i go to college. then i get married and i have my own place.” and that’s how i’m leaving it. i’m just a free spirit.’
