malachi choi - walk in the park lyrics

Loading...

verse 1:

amassed through my mind as i think of things to write
taking a stroll through the night an idea shines
flowing in life, theres places you find
they’re like capsules of time, nostalgia from a ride

in my 18 years there’s been a place so divine
important moments measured when we rewind
from a park near to me is where i often be
walk once a day, set my mind and body free

at one point in time though it wasn’t all glee
my dad had to get me up to walk off the game
frustratеd at first, but now i’m happy he did this
independеntly i go on my own now in bliss

and while i do this, i start to reminisce
i walk on these paths, the memories swarm me
run under the pathway of trees i was scared of bees
elementary hanging out with homies

biking around, observing the falling leaves
missing the bus, walking in in the streets
running around on christmas to lose some weight
high school walking home in the pouring rain
hours stepped to process my first heartbreak
the dark playground of my 18th birthday
swinging toy swords with the intent to slay
risking my life messing in that crazy snowstorm

near that time brought the girl i fell for
going full sprint when i was p+ssed at the world
sometimes i question the significance
of why i remember these things and this

i stand in a place i stood years ago, and think about how far i’ve come
sometimes i wish i could go back to some
but i come to realize the past is over and done

retracing my steps as new ones are paved
much like the memories i’ll bring with me to the grave, this place will become a piece of the past, a memory too no matter how hard i try to coup

and although in just a month i got to leave
this place will be forever a part of me
just as the memories that make me who i am, forever in my heart and the lessons
