roza redd - an attempt at a political song lyrics
i’m yet to learn how to write about a song about
politics without sounding like
an uneducated assh0l+
but i guess that’s what i am
i can rattle off a bunch of buzzwords
f+ck the cops and eat the rich and
i do believe every single word i say
i can explain the problems with policing
the failures of capitalism
and include in detail why it’s largely the rich who are to blame
but at the same time to put these thoughts
to music seems impossible
in an way that’s rather difficult to explain
going into the problems with the
13th amendment and thе gaps left by it
isn’t something easily donе in a two minute song
trying to explain exploitation of the worker
in this short period of time
well it wouldn’t be impossible, i just don’t think i’d do it justice
but not talking about what i believe
seems to me to be awfully wrong
so i’d rather do it poorly than not do it at all
so f+ck the cops because how they pray
on people of colour and the mentally ill
and f+ck the injustice system for recreating slavery
f+ck the rich for h++rding wealth
while people die, so they can thrive
and f+ck capitalism for keeping the worker down
we’ll never be free if we all arent in control
and we’ll never be free while their are squad cars on the road
you’ll never be free while billionares survive
you’ll never be free until all your comrades thrive
isn’t it just like a white leftist to make the first 3/4 of the song about them? i’m a f+cking assh0l+
