sayla - b4 i go lyrics

[verse 1]
it’s like someone drained by mind, someone or something divine
must’ve floated my psyche to cloud 9, cause you’re all that i think about
a lil curse wrapped by layers and layers of bubbles of blessing all clumsily plastered round
oh, you’re bad for me
but its okay to have the occasional chocolate you say
and when life is occasionally downwards we pray
making us feel fee fy fo fum
i guess we do reach skies for fun
ski slops to heathrows to freehold, we’re like f+ck it
truth be told tho, yo we k!llin this adultin’
this crazy adult thing
we both children pretending to be incredible hulks when
we both winging this like mayweather
got more wind under our wings than falcon feather
no matter the weather, never whether, we’ll wither together
no matter the weather, mind over matter, we’ll brave it together
no matter the battles, we climb up the ladder, come out of it better

[chorus]
and right before i go, i say little prayer for you
i hope you always know, i love you

[verse 2]
and everyone has opinions, don’t let it affect you like onions
hearts of immigrant hustle for our own tuition
we’ve got love goggles, flirtin’ between bottles of bubbles
then wobble+wobble to bed to snuggle and cuddle, yuh
grown people tings
cold winter brings
gold gluhwein tings
gold finger rings
some memory stings
some memory stink
but all memory clings
all memory makes you think how far you’ve come
how far you’re run
how hard we’ve worked, all dat we’ve done
and all that’s to do, ahead
go to budadest to clear our heads, maybe
i wanna travel the world with my baby til we 80
[chorus]
and right before i go, i say little prayer for you
i hope you always know, i love you

[poem: my feet]
whenever ego floats me, i look at my feet
when the superficial inflates me, i’ll wake from its deceit
never look down on anyone, you see, my feet reminds me
that i was there once, when tight shoes used to bind me
as a child, i was humbled by our ways
how we were rich in love, rooted, so we never swayed
tight shoes, tight shoes, but i still ran and played
no complains new shoes, i will ask of another day
i feel the growing pains, but i don’t tell so they won’t know
squeeze my little feet in, it hurts but it will do
my toes crumpled to fit, ugly humps on every toe
now i find it beautiful + it stays with me as i grow
i used to shy away from letting them see
what would they say, think low of me?
hide them in socks, hide them or flee!
but these are my footprints + let them be
but these are my footprints + let them be
i may have walked up plenty steps, braved on when its’s steep
leaving a trail for dreams to follow, when i finally sleep
today i’ve shoes aplenty, but when bare footed + i’m in peace
for i’m reminded how far i’ve come, by just looking at my feet
