the war in vietnam cost the us fifty-eight thousand lives
in 1962, the cuban missile crisis shook the world like an earthquake

the kgb and cia spied on each other
sabotaged, aided revolutions, and lied on each other
yet over the time the freezer would dissipate
like in 1972, nixon and brezhnev agreed to solve
in 1989, down came the berlin wall
