swaz benjamin - nature lyrics
nature
[intro conversation]
i thought – yes! finally we’re getting to a world where it doesn’t bl–dy matter what we look like, what our skin, our cultural background, it’s, d’you know, it’s just
if we can see the beauty in everything that people do to achieve & to inspire &
you know, that’s what i’ve been doing as a teacher for 40 years nearly is tryna encourage everyone to be themselves
[verse 1]
yeah welcome to a world at war with itself
where this new day isn’t born till the falling of selfish
amateurs who damage us
when we put em above us
these scavengers be ravenous blood suckers
runnin’ amok, frontin’ amongst us like they’re grown men
so it’s a place painfully war torn by it’s own hands
without that relaxed placidness
& quiet storm of a slow jam
on burns the raging furnace
of a full metal racket
where racketeers pack their purses
on an imbalanced planet
subservient m-sses are nervous
famished, or manic addicts
it can be tragic & reoccur damage
but here for everlasting health, wealth, prosperity & abundance -basking in the perfect magic
we put the people – the woman & man first
we put the earth – the land first
& make the whole oneness
in this place of emptiness & nothingness
it’s the substance
yeahhhhh hheeaaahhh
[chorus]
let me relay some ancient wisdom
yeah yeahhh
nature will never follow the people
people always have to follow the laws of nature
follow the laws of nature
but is it too late?
[verse 2]
pervasive medias
invasively meeting yas
flashing flashy lifestyle packages
leading the
already greedy towards becoming needier
& promoting greed as a suitable way of being for the neediest
if we keep repeating this
addicted fashion victims
will suffer worse afflictions
’cause mother just doesn’t need us interns
for her big work
but for us she’s a precondition
synonymous with “viva la vida, breathing & eating”
d-mn man, we need her
even more than we need us
or need love
or food, clothes, shelter
man it’s tough
when all of the above is irrelevant stuff
’cause there’s no place to raise the kids in
that’s why i’m telling ya
[bridge]
what wooo ohhhh
yeah yeah yeah
that’s why i’m telling ya
that’s why i’m telling ya
[verse 3]
we’re vultures of consumer culture
mulch & chew in huge gulches
scoff the lot
till the coffin is locked
& our hands have folded
so we grow gaps
in spots all over the planet
till our habitat is broken
fracked, eroded, cracked open
& we just burn up
like molotovs thrown in the middle east
or l-st for bl–dy murder leaves us blown to smithereens
k!lling each other like friendly fire in the military
if it’s not all out war there’s still a fallout for sure
so many societies divided by
ethnicity, religion, s-xuality, cl-ss, gender, age, race
& other suffocating traits
it’s like being caught up
& smothered in covers of books
people love to judge & award us from just one look
we’re practically blind
fed a pack of distractions & lies
true natures’ pacified
[outro chorus]
let me relay some ancient wisdom
yeah yeahhh
nature will never follow the people
people always have to follow the laws of nature
let me relay hey yah
follow the laws of nature
oh let me relay heyy yah
but is it too late?
[outro conversation]
you know, equally, it’s really, endlessly fascinating
to think about people who don’t give a sh-t about any of that
& who study a life of, for a better word, they call it – enlightenment – of peace & harmony
but is it too late
we put the people – the woman & man first
put the earth – the land first
& make the whole oneness
peace & harmony
go with the flow you reckon
yep, yep, yeah
we’ll be going very shortly too
