well, you know, my style as a writer first and foremost is that i’m a storyteller, in a classic sense, so i can’t help myself
but the album actually is an opera, it’s like a rock opera
we’ll call it a soul opera
uh, and king or the fool, um, stars or centers around my alter ego, who is tony king, right?

and it talks about his relationship with his, uh, his love interest
that is played on the album by erika alexander, from the sitcom living single
my girl maxine, you know her
oh, okay, okay
she’s my leading lady, if you will
and, uh, let’s see, my homeboy in the opera is actually comedian alex thomas
and i’m gonna also introduce, um, another character that actually kinda tries to upstage us all
uh+huh
umm, but yeah, and the opera…the story talks about our relationship, as my alter ego, tony king
starts off as just a club performer in his rise in the entertainment industry

and how the, uh, the relationship takes its knocks along the way

and it’s just kind of, uh
you know, i like to say as a songwriter that, uh
people ask me what inspires me when i write songs
and i’m not necessarily always inspired, but i love to tell a story
i think everybody wants to hear a story

but i don’t necessarily think it has to be my story in particular
so i’m just a storyteller, i just like to create stories, and i’ve been doin’ that forever
