truth - society 2day lyrics

Loading...

[hook x3]
what are we doing? we’re doing it wrong
we’re trying to fix it, it’s taking too long
society today, has fallen around me
i put my hood up, you know nothing about me
[verse 1: truth]
why is the government silent about these tyrants
who are all about violence
dissecting shops like a frog in a lesson of science
is it worth it? see, personally
i feel it could turn into a murder spree
kids worshiping these gangstas and k!llers
the losers seen as winners
and they go and rob a tin of beans or armani jeans sinning
i’m beginning to wonder if god would just stop the earth from spinning
cos it’d seem better if all the men, women and children
in their billions would just stop living then no one would be k!lling
nowadays i forget what makes us brilliant
cos it ain’t causing all this pain, the news is the same everyday
and everyday it doesn’t change, always suffering pain and death
how did we manage to leave this planet in this mess?
less and less i feel blessed to be human then i hear that music
that’s the cause at best
ruining young minds with violent rhymes at times, do guys realise
life shouldn’t be help bent, on trying to be 50 cent?
get rich or die trying? maybe that’s why the death toll of the youths is rising

[hook x1]

[verse 2: truth]
the papers portray this nation as a race filled with hatred
to shame the parents for their creations rioting in places
it’s disgraceful placing all youths in that category like product placement
and we’re supposed to embrace the way you say stop bad behaviour?
if you’re an observer, you’d observe a hoodie isn’t always a murderer
i’d prefer to see, the words i speak to turn the streets
murder free but personally, we’re all learners to be
educated by places other than news on tv, papers or radio stations
then we make the mistakes of rioting and looting causing complications
leaving decent people with shocked faces
blame it on the government after making yourselves the stereotype they place you with?
face it! you made it worse, now you get discrimination
cos people now believe that teens just smoke weed
and leave people in the streets bleeding, never revealing
whats underneath, their hood cos they’re misunderstood with blood rushing
never judge, that’s the start of society’s self destruct b-tton

[hook x2]

[bridge: truth]
media coverage blows it out of proportion
shouldn’t believe half the things they’re reporting
us youths aren’t actually all the same
but some let us down, it’s such a shame
and one of them is our whole representation
the irony that a hood and mask covers his face and
cos of him, our generation is tested
can’t answer the nations question
