the boy and dude 2 look at each other

fam busts into the room. shots are fired. dude 2 slumps to the floor. his body is bl–dy mess

fam: oh sh-t! sh-t! you’re bleeding

the boy looks down at his stomach and sees a small hole. blood is pouring out at an alarming rate

the boy: i’m fine

fam: we need to go! come on! you’re going to bleed out if we don’t leave now!

the boy: it doesn’t matter

fam: what? come on! i’m leaving with or without you

the boy: then go

fam leaves the room hesitantly with a grimace on his face. he’s hoping the boy will change his mind. he doesn’t. the boy sits alone. the boy wanders slowly through the mansion and winds up in front of the buddha statue. the boy stands in front of it for awhile, making intense eye contact. he stumbles and tries to lean on the statue. it falls and shatters on the floor. the boy looks inside of the hollow statue, hoping to find something. hoping to find anything. there is nothing. the boy lifts up the now broken head of the buddha statue and looks into its eyes. the boy opens his mouth, but says nothing. they aren’t saying things, or giving opinions, or feeling interesting. neither have a purpose. it’s a great time. the boy is feeling a little light-headed. he collapses to the ground, and holds his stomach. his hand is covered in blood. with his vision fading, he writes on the floor with his blood
