yr poetry - dads lyrics

Loading...

there is a light on, in my old room
i’d race up the stairs to switch it off before my dad got home
if i keep wasting electricity, he’s gonna k!ll me

poor choice of words. cos dads die first
it’s the great energy expenditure cycle of the universe

and i just realised;
i’ve lived longer without you than with you alive
and i don’t think you’d like what i’ve done with my life
there is a light on (it was just a dream) in my old room
(the same posters on the walls that i had)
i was always running out, nevеr looking back, when i was seventeen

and i just rеalised;
i’ve lived longer without you than with you alive
and i don’t think you’d like what i’ve done with my life

i left a lot of lights on, on purpose
