what is– what is wrong with you? that you think about that?
i wish that i knew. i would prefer to not have these programs running in my brain sometimes, but… you know, the stoics thought that uh, thought that by imagining like the absolute worst case scenarios that you could cultivate gratitude for like whatever is actually happening. and i would say in this case that if there’s one silver lining to imagining that scenario it’s that it makes it plainly obvious that our current situation is vastly, vastly superior to that and like infinitely superior to that and that makes me appreciate the world around us
you have to imagine aliens with immortality technology and eternal torture to be grateful for our current situation?
