and tore off a chunk of its junk to form the moon

that brought forth land, the sun didn’t dry up the seas

and worms, the atmosphere became very rich
in oxygen and that sparked the cambrian explosion
diverse creatures arose on land and the ocean

before forests of trees became rampant
then came first vertebrates, jawless fishes
then insects, amphibians and four+legged creatures
all this mixture in the search for flawless features
evolution’s actions far from scoreless fixtures
sharks to reptiles, dinosaurs to mammals to birds
some couldn’t handle the world
a reference to the five big extinctions
the last obliterated the live t+rex kingdom
and the rest of dinosaurs, i know we had all sorts
but not before flowers like magnolia burst forth
