wrote my first song in the same room that they almost jumped me

one was expelled, but he’d come back to the campus with cannabis just to come sell
his dad was in a cell so he would help his mama pay the bills by stashing ziplocs under portables, h++rd ’em all till after school where he would go to all
the spots where all the kids would smoke, he’d walk in with a baggie and leave a month’s rent
a fourth of it he sent, to his plug up in daytona, hoping he could stay on the grind for the money for some time, till his dad got his life back, how would he react?
we never found out
cuz the next week, they found his plug and bought him out
everybody was gassin’ up, light a blunt and pass it up
despite the smell, they kept the run under the nose of the school and the staff and all the counselors

“do my eyes look red?” became our new “good morning”
when all the kids just looked dead, the classroom was for mourning
roll a blunt in the morning, and do acid at night
i’d hear the stories all at lunch, it seemed like a delight
i never tried either, but d+mn well got a sniff of it
my eyes would water up in class when i got a good whiff of it
tired of that sh+t cuz my homies always got caught for it
20 students kicked out in one week, after they bought a bit
a rat, was in the school and we all knew
but who was that? we learned to trust not a single new
they finally found him, it was too late though
cuz all the kids with plugs got ratted out the day before
but the rat was still punished by the rest of them
one kid got carried away and they simply just arrested him
i left the school the next year, i didn’t want to risk it
that sh+t was too wild, i just wanted to write my lyrics
all my homies there said that sh+t got better
and i hope so cuz the risk they took was not worth the cheddar
never took advantage of a problem like that
cuz “father’s name” was written backwards off of the first kid’s dad
by then i knew all the terms and all the lingo
i made a couple enemies, i wish ’em well but can’t go
back cuz of the risk level
