so, it’s taken me a while to complete my first record
seven years to be exact
and i remember my dad would always ask
“when will you go finish your record?”
then i’d start, then i’d stop, start again
many times it was because of fear

sometimes it would be because i wouldn’t believe in myself enough to do
then my mom would tell me

a time to plant, a time to pluck up what was planted

that was a bible scripture that i took to heart and realized that my time was my time
and no one could take that from me
but i can’t neglect the dream
i went through a lot, seen a lot over the years
the final product is all the joy, sadness, pain, or love i experience over the last 7summers
