deadly this green poison might be
a controversy, it is the source of many
just observe as one too many countries have
soldiers shooting shots with glock forties
so their citizens may rock and ride sportie
ignoring the dangers posed by this black gold
for is it a blessing or a curse?
as when one possesses something so precious
others get jealous and rip it from their arms
as one becomes alarmed and tries to keep a grip
then when the battle ceases to exist
the poison has created another casualty
an elixir so ancient it tricked the first man
rooted deep into the consciousness of the human brain
a spell that causes a friend to erase you for half of your fame
a horrid hallucination, you could come to know too well

yet this poison takes many forms
perhaps it could be a gold pearl
emitted from fire and travelling with
a speed so great it swivels and swirls
or perhaps a sword
lined with a pure red liquid
striking those who come close
the man wielding it wanting
hoping of building a stairway to heaven with gold
yet even he was not sold on his idea which was so bold
as he steps on them which he thinks are of gold
alas he sees heaven’s gates!
embroidered with silver reflecting the sun’s rays
he has made it he thinks and continues his trek
he reaches out for the kn-b just inches away
however to his surprise the steps break
incapable of holding the tremendous weight
of his sword and the green poison he has ingested
he falls through the earth and into its center
realizing how he will spend his eternal slumber
