[the scene opens up in a dark room with five friends, sarah, emily, jake, mark and david, sitting in a circle on the floor. they are all holding a candle in their hands.]

sarah: so, are we really doing this?

emily: yeah, it’s gonna be so much fun!

jake: i don’t know, guys. this is not a good idea

mark: come on, jake, don’t be a wuss

david: yeah, it’s just a candle. what could go wrong?

sarah: exactly! now let’s all close our eyes and concentrate on the flame

[the friends close their eyes and focus on the flame. after a few seconds, they start chanting in unison.]

friends: dark side, dark side, show us the way. we’re not afraid, we’re here to play

[as they keep chanting, the flame starts fl!ckering wildly and the room becomes darker. suddenly, they hear a strange noise and then sarah starts mumbling incoherently.]

emily: sarah, are you okay?

jake: what’s happening to her?

mark: i think she’s possessed!
david: we have to stop this!

friends: dark side, dark side, we take it back. release our friend, we’re under attack

[as they keep chanting, the flame starts fl!ckering again and sarah stops mumbling. she looks confused and disoriented.]

sarah: what happened? why am i on the floor?

emily: you were possessed by the demons of the dark side!

jake: we have to get out of here before something worse happens!

mark: yeah, this was a stupid idea

david: let’s go, guys

[the friends grab their belongings and leave the room. sarah looks back at the candle before following them out. she feels like she’s been caught in a trap, as if the candle had revealed her secrets and sins. little does she know, the game they played was just the beginning of their nightmare.]
