(verse)
look what mom and dad came up to be
mom having me
working one job when dad was hardly ever around
only to see his son until 11
that was hard, stayin’ strong through the process
raising me to be well mannered
when going to school from k to upper elementary
into middle school
started playing ball, my favorite things
dated girls in junior high, but they were no good to me
went from 6th to 8th grade what felt like a blurry
into high school now friends, girls, family, parties, that’s the high school luxory
in the 9th is when i hit rock bottom coach telling me
“to quit the basketball team”
coaches are supposed to help, but it hit me emotionally
telling me, “i’m no good i should do better things”
months later i moved to another place where i didn’t know n0body
lived in fayettville for 11 months and lemme tell you the story
i had problems with depression and anger
realized that somewhere people can help me
private school i went to, made me a better person in the community
it was expensive to get it in, but mom having enough pocket money
for me to live with the people that felt like brothers to me
joseph g. one of them, he the only one that wanted me to be around
cause everybody else was crazy in the head
everyday playing cards like uno and phase 10
lemme tell you he was the man
winning almost every game like it’s game 7
he told me some things that n0body else knows
just know he was a brother to me
he a chill dude, but was in a gang to
few other people who i cared about, but that’s confidential
counseling helped along the way like it did for me
but still taking it on the usual
when i lived there i began to change
rules there were a strain
struggling obstacles on me like the rain
didn’t have much money or the fame
had to do the things the first time and not come through again like a hurricane
when the paperwork came
still needed to understand the concept of a mindset that i’m gonna change
came back january 18th
i said “in 6 days i’m finally coming home”
now i’m home
working hard now 20/20 the vision
that’s my eyes seeing the future
if this is a way to do it i need a producer
winning serious situations not a loser
moving up the ladder now a junior
as i reflect on my day
not lettin’ negativity get in the way
that’s the obstacles i had to face
pour my heart out this what it takes
everyday gotta write my wrongs only if i’m doing right
gotta learn to grow up and stride
it’s not easy when your a lil kid tryna’ fly a kite
it takes months to progress
wrote music while in there but there was no access
had to improvise and hope for the best
family was motivation, i was monthly acc-mulating
help me innovate my months of self-changing
had to open my eyes and see a better me, a better me
that’s another thing, i had to see, it took money it wasn’t free
always on my feet, wasn’t gonna’ beat myself on the ground from underneath
stood my ground, put my foot down, that’s me being inevitable now fixed about
wrote music without a sound it started growing to me now
check my position knowledge like the ignition on push start
my ambition strongly telling me that family is always in my heart
don’t wanna see my siblings go through the struggle it will tear me apart
last time when i poured my heart out you saw me doing wrong
this time pouring it more i’ve kept my head strong
