i chose this song because it has always connected with
me on another level. ever since i was young, i started
listening to all different kinds of music, especially rap
growing up, i have seen how rap has changed over time
and how people can use rap to have a stupid, meaningless message, and how others use it as a form to convey a
message that they don’t think they could tell in any
other way. i have always felt like i have seen blatant
racial divides in our society, and this was the first
time someone could put my thoughts into words

this song has surely hit all three theories of how to
officially qualify something as “art”. lucas’ great
intention was to close the social and racial gap in
america, which everyone can agree that that is
something that needs to be fixed for the betterment
of mankind. this song was on the billboards for a
while, it struck social outrage as people cheered it
on and used it as a foundation of filling the social
holes left in our society. as of today, “i’m not racist”
has 133.6 million views on the music video alone
which surely means that it has gathered traction
and good responses

yes, perception affects creativity because the
definition of creativity is “relating to or involving
the imagination or original ideas, especially in the
production of an artistic work”. and in order to have
the inclusion of the imagination or original ideas, you
need to be able to gather the aspects of other people’s perspectives and have the ability to use the foundation
of everybody’s different perspectives in order to truly
come up with something creative. especially in this song
this is a very rare and popular song because it does
something that not a lot of other songs do
which is take in the perspectives of everyone
around you and be able to create a consensus for
everybody’s different opinions
